But I can't look away, and so I'm turning to you for help. Who has Montreal's best poutine? If you don't see your favorite in the poll, be sure to add it in the comments.

Well, looks like I am the first voter. I have to admit, I have not had the poutine from these other establishments, but the Foie Gras poutine from Au Pied de Cochon is one of the single greatest dishes I have ever experienced. When my wife and I ate there, the couple next to us had two (!) of them.
Howdy!
Unfortunately (or fortunately as the case might be) Le 940 is closed. If you'd like to replace it with someplace else I'd suggest Poutine Lafleur, 3665 Wellington in Verdun.
Zekes, I'm guessing that Poutine Lafleur is not the same as the Lafleur chain, right?
Howdy!
Not a chance, not even close :-)
I'm a huge fan of the poutine Bourguignone at Ma'am Bolduc. I think it's the best in town. La Banquise is really solid as well. I like their galvaude, the dalton and the chouxxx. The chouxxx is topped with coleslaw. It makes for an amazing contrast of hot/cold, soft/crunchy. It think everyone should try it at least once. One I do not like like on poutine is overloading on toppings and adding any sort of cured meat. Also, if it has shredded cheese on it it's not poutine. There's one place across from Henri-Bourassa metro called Lesage that used to have to most amazing poutine Italienne. I'm not sure if they're still around.
